    John has travelled extensively around the world, culminating in 19 years’ experience looking at different models. He is the European pioneer of Nad+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) treatment to Europe in 2010; and recently back from the USA bringing state of the art Virtual Reality Relapse Prevention and stress reduction therapy. his passion extends to other metabolic disturbances and neurodegenerative diseases.

    The journey continues, in recent times john has travelled to Russia to study and research into a new therapy photobiomudulation or systemic laser therapy working with Nad+ scientists and the very best of the medical profession in the UK and the USA, together with Nadcell, Bionad Clinics own select Doctors, nurses, dieticians and therapists, Johns’ passion continues to endeavour to bring to the UK and Europe new developments with Nad+ therapy in preventive and restorative medicine and Wellness. In 2017 John Gillen was made a visiting Professor at the John Naisbitt university in Belgrade Serbia.

    Dr Otulana is a highly experienced GP and Addiction Specialist Physician. He has a specialist interest in Substance Misuse Management and he has a wide range of experience in the assessment, management (including detoxification) and residential rehabilitation of patients with various drug and substance addiction problems. His main aim is to comprehensively assess patients with addiction problems and determine their treatment needs for medical detoxification treatments and psychological interventions. He is also experienced in managing patients who require dual drug and alcohol detoxification treatments.

    Dr Otulana started practising as a doctor in 2000 and has been in the field of addiction for over a decade. He is an Advanced Practitioner Member of Addiction Professionals and also holds a Part 1 Certificate in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the British Association for Psychopharmacology. He is additionally a strong healthcare service professional with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Cambridge University Judge Business School.

    Consultant Psychiatrist and Addictions Specialist

    Dr Fapohunda has been practising as a doctor since 2000 and has over a decade of experience practising at a consultant level, providing clinical supervision and training to other doctors and multidisciplinary professional teams. She is a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych), with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and is listed on the GMC Specialist Register in the Specialty of General Adult Psychiatry and Substance Misuse Psychiatry.

    Dr Fapohunda assesses and manages patients with drug and alcohol problems and is highly experienced with the psychosocial interventions used in addiction, including individual and group therapies and the hospital inpatient detoxification of patients with alcohol dependence, benzodiazepine dependence and opioid dependence syndrome. She can also manage mental health complications of addictions and patients presenting with a dual diagnosis of mental health and addiction problems.

    Madissar has a wealth of experience in a managerial position within substance misuse for over 20 years, working with offending behaviour and criminal justice.

    Madissar began his career as a prison officer in 2000 and progressed further in the substance misuse field within the prison settings delivering various short duration programmes and linking prisoners to community-based treatment providers before their release. In 2006 Madissar successfully managed to set up the Drug Intervention Programme within Bedfordshire. This later transpired to successfully securing a service manager role and developing the Drug Rehabilitation Requirement Order.

    Madissar successfully secured various managerial positions within the substance misuse field with joint partnership working with Integrated Offender Management and police in reducing drug-related offending behaviour. Madissar gained extensive experience and expertise working for several organisations, such as Adapt, Rapt, Addaction, Westminster Drug Project, Hertfordshire Couty Council, NHS and Next Step Support. Madissar holds a diploma in level 5 Leadership and Management and has extensive experience in the senior managerial role.

    Madissar passion lies in supporting services to achieve their goals and objectives. In the last two years, Madissar progressed further in mental health as a senior managerial role, overseeing residential rehabilitation and supporting living accommodations with adults (18+) with a range of diverse complex needs.

Claire has also volunteered as a Health Care Assistant, supporting patients on end of life care, as well as volunteering and becoming a Trustee for a child bereavement charity.

    After joining Asana Lodge as a Recovery Support Worker, Claire has since been promoted to Senior Recovery Worker and continues to show compassion and empathy towards residents. She likes to ensure that clients are comfortable and supported on their road to recovery and loves to watch clients evolve on their journey.

    Jay has been a Psychodynamic therapist for the past 10 years and has also been trained in DBT, Mindfulness and the treatment of addiction. Jay specialises in alcohol misuse, stimulant and opiate use, cannabis addiction, anxiety management, managing trauma, conflict in relationships, and disordered attachment styles. He has 20 years of work experience in the field of substance misuse in both residential and community settings.

    Jay feels privileged to be part of the team at Asana Lodge and enjoys watching people make positive changes in their lives is always rewarding and gratifying. He believes that the commitment to understanding each individual client’s needs and the willingness to go the extra mile to make sure they are met is the reason that Asana Lodge team are special.

    Clinical Lead Nurse

    Jayde joined the team as an Agency Nurse at Asana Lodge in January 2022 and enjoyed the role so much that she decided to stay permanently. She has years of previous experience in Emergency Care, both in pre-hospital and in the Emergency Department, as well as in corporate education where she delivered training in mentorship and clinical skills.

    She strives to achieve the best possible care for clients at Asana Lodge and ensures that their road to recovery is smooth. Jayde is currently working in aesthetics in her spare time where she is working towards completing a Masters which includes a prescribing course so she can continue to improve the care for residents recovering from addiction.

    Jo has worked in the addiction field for 5 years in varying roles, initially working as a chef for 2 years, followed by a bank support worker until a full-time position became available. Jo has worked at Asana Lodge since February 2022 as an Administrator, and also regularly uses her past experience to help as chef and with the support workers.

    Jo aims to continue work within the addiction field and is currently enrolled in a Level 5 Leadership and Management course which she is extremely excited to start. As the child of a recovering alcoholic, Jo feels very privileged to have the opportunity to support vulnerable groups who are often misunderstood in our society.
