What is the Admissions Process for Drug and Alcohol Treatment?

Our rehabilitation centre utilises evidence-based treatments and the latest therapy techniques to tailor each treatment programme to each individual. Once you have taken the first step in contacting us to discuss your admission, we will conduct an assessment on your physical and psychological health.

This is carried out in the strictest confidence and can take up to two hours at most. You have the option to visit our rehabilitation centre for this assessment or we can arrange a home visit where you may feel more comfortable.

This initial assessment gives us an insight into the nature of your addiction and your medical history, allowing us to design such a tailored programme.

If you’re happy to proceed, we would set an admissions date where you will be met by our friendly team to induct you into our treatment centre.

All of the above is true if you’re self-referring into drug and alcohol rehab which is an incredibly valuable act to take control of your future. If it’s not yourself that you’re concerned about but a loved one, then it’s also possible to go through family and friend referral to seek our support.

It can be extremely upsetting to watch someone you care about go through drug and alcohol abuse, particularly when negative side effects are prevalent.

You can try to encourage them to join our rehab in Greenwich, however it’s likely they’ll struggle to see the benefits themselves.

Our compassionate team will of course ensure all details are confidential when you get in touch with us regarding your concern about a loved one.

We will request further details about their drug or alcohol addiction to help us understand any side effects they’re going through and enable us to recommend the next steps to take.

We ensure that all family members or friends who are affected receive ongoing support through our family and friend referral service.

If you’re concerned about a loved one suffering from drug or alcohol abuse, then referring them to a rehab centre like ours may be exactly what they need to realise they really do need support. It’s an extremely rewarding contribution to help them lead a happier, healthier life.

Do we offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

Our experienced medical team offer a wide variety of psychological and well-being therapies to aid your recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.

We recognise that a holistic approach is the best way to treat both your body and mind, therefore giving yourself the best opportunity to achieve long-term recovery.

Our psychological therapies are delivered by highly skilled, qualified psychologists and counsellors to ensure a safe and secure environment throughout the duration of your addiction treatment.

Cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT, is one of the most common therapies which we offer. This helps our clients who are in a negative cycle to learn to manage their thoughts and feelings.

CBT will help you to deal with problems which you may find overwhelming in a more positive way by breaking the problem down into more manageable pieces. It’s typical that each cognitive behavioural therapy session will last between 30 to 60 minutes.

Once you have determined with your therapist what unhelpful thoughts and behaviours you can change, we will then recommend that you put these changes into practise in daily life and continue to monitor your progress from there.

In addition to cognitive behavioural therapy, we also provide stress management, drug or alcohol detox, NAD+ therapy, family therapy, relapse prevention, bereavement, trauma and abuse counselling, Satori therapy, and mediation therapy for disputes.

Combining these psychological therapies with our carefully selected well-being therapies, has proven to be the best approach for a successful recovery from drug and alcohol abuse.

Our well-being therapies include yoga, meditation, mindfulness, relaxation and sleep management, nutrition therapy, low level laser therapy, self-help sessions, art therapy, and Indian head or full body massages.

It’s important to remember to relax as best you can throughout your treatment programme which can be an uncomfortable process at times; our well-being therapies help to do this.

Aftercare and Relapse Prevention

Once you’ve completed your treatment programme at our rehab in Greenwich, you’ll hopefully feel much more positive and motivated to continue your journey to long-term recovery.

Our addiction treatments typically require you to stay with us for around 28 days, however we offer a free 12-month aftercare programme to all of our clients.

We do this because the first year after leaving our rehabilitation centre is the most crucial, this is when you’re most likely to relapse.

We arrange weekly catch-up sessions where we can help you retain motivation and talk through any additional concerns or thoughts of relapse.

It’s very helpful to connect with former residents of our treatment centre and check in with your therapists who you’re likely to have built a trusting bond with.

You’ll have a much higher chance of success in achieving your recovery goals if you utilise our aftercare plan.

If needed, we can also arrange ongoing CBT sessions, local support groups or additional therapy sessions.

Contact our team today on 01908 489 421 or at info@asanalodge.com and start your journey to recovery.
