Finances can be irreparably damaged, relationships destroyed and you can become estranged from your loved ones, all in a very short period of time. Seeking help is essential instead of hoping the problem goes away. An addiction will worsen over time and if you do not seek out rehabilitation, an addiction can even be fatal.
Choosing the right rehab is an intimidating and overwhelming experience. There are many private drug and alcohol rehab facilities available. Asana Lodge are here to guide you through this process and to answer any questions you might have. If you are a concerned friend or relative, and are worried that someone you care about is not in control of their substance use, we also offer guidance on family referrals and friend referrals.
With our guidance, we can find the right treatment option for you via our admissions process and help to guide you on the path to recovery.
Admissions Process
The purpose of our admissions process is to identify and provide you with the best rehabilitation for your condition. Not only do Asana Lodge treat drug and alcohol addiction, we are also able to assist with those experiencing cocaine addiction, cannabis addiction, mental health conditions and anxiety treatment.
Everyone is affected in a different way by addiction, and Asana Lodge will guide you through the best treatment for you and your recovery plan will be unique to you and you will always be treated as an individual.
Broadly, we offer two main methods of drug rehab and alcohol rehab – inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab.
Inpatient addiction treatment is offered on a residential basis. This allows you to receive your treatment in the comfort and safety of our residential rehab clinic. Inpatient treatment is best suited for those who have developed an advanced addiction and do not have a safe homelife conducive to a supported recovery.
Conversely, outpatient treatment is more appropriate for those who have a supportive homelife who can recover safely at evenings and weekends in their own home, and is specifically more suitable for those who have received an early diagnosis for an addiction.
Private drug and alcohol rehab is expensive, but we will work with you to ensure you receive the appropriate treatment plan within your budget.
Detoxification Treatment
The majority of our clients require a period of drug detox or alcohol detox. A detox is one of the processes of your recovery that helps to flush your body of toxins that will build up over the course of a drug or alcohol addiction. In order to break your dependency on these addictive substances, you will need to withdraw from them.
This is not an easy process and as such there’s no set timescale on how long a detox takes. It varies from a few days to several weeks. Your body will react badly to not having access to addictive substances and this will manifest itself via a series of withdrawal symptoms.
These may be minor, but they can be as severe as extreme sweating and persistent nausea. It is an unpleasant experience and many of our clients talk of efforts they’ve made to detox themselves in the past only to have to give in to the pain of withdrawal symptoms. A detox can be dangerous and we would strongly recommend you don’t try and perform a DIY detox at home.
Asana Lodge perform medically assisted detoxes, which means we can issue medication to ease your discomfort from withdrawal symptoms. This will help you through this difficult part of your treatment and allow you to focus on overcoming your addiction. Our medical team will be available 24/7 to ensure your safety and to see how you are progressing.
Therapy options
Your therapy will take place in both individual and group sessions. The purpose of these sessions is to identify why you developed an addiction in the first place and to change your behaviours and attitudes moving forwards. The goal of group sessions is to learn from the experiences of other recovering addicts and to share your own story with your peers.
We also offer a more holistic approach to therapy via yoga classes, exercise sessions and creative classes such as music therapy.
Relapse Prevention and Personalised Aftercare Plans
Aftercare plans are an essential part of your treatment. These plans ensure that you avoid going into relapse, which is the most likely in the year after your rehab. The aftercare plans Asana Lodge draw up remind you of what you’ve learned, how far to come and what to do if you’re faced with the possibility of slipping back into drug or alcohol abuse.
You’ll be provided with follow up sessions and a 24 hour helpline that you can use if you require advice.

What is the difference between Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment?
Inpatient treatment is more suitable for those with long-standing addictions that are not in control, outpatient treatment is more appropriate for those with milder addiction symptoms.
How to know when to go to Rehab?
It could be that friends or loved ones spot the need to go to rehab first – and we provide family intervention and alcohol intervention services for concerned parties to seek help for someone they care about who is struggling with an addiction. If you are not able to control the amount of drugs or alcohol you’re consuming, then you are very likely suffering with an addiction and should seek professional help as soon as possible.
How long does Rehab last?
There is no certain answer as everyone is different and will respond to treatment in their own time – but residential rehab is generally a minimum of 60-90 days for those in an advanced state of addiction.
